That's not true, although there is confusion.

People have been told about a 12-week extension for PIP forms.

Sorry Dom, your link does not provide any clarity.

Although there will be no reviews or reassessments of benefits for three months from Tuesday 24 March it is my understanding that forms should still be completed and sent in by there due date.

Anne

You can request an extension for returning the 1043 form and it may well now be that the DWP will extend well beyond the two weeks that they have previously been willing to do without the intervention of a Decision Maker.

But I want to stress to everybody, especially those returning ESA and UC forms where there is no extension specifically available, unless the DWP make a written statement advising otherwise you must return the form by any specified date, either on the letter accompanying the form or an extended date if given.

The legislation for all of these benefits gives the DWP the legal authority to close your claim if the questionnaires are not returned on time, i is tortuous at the best of times to overcome this situation and in the current situation you could be looking at months and quite likely a lot of months before you would be able to resolve the situation with your PIP or ESA not being payable, UC payments would not be stopped but you would lose any LCW or LCWRA element that was payable.
