You can't avoid comparison potentially happening between the old and the new letter but you don't want to draw their attention to it by submitting both with this reassessment.

So regarding the GP letter that may not be ready in time, I have a choice of either sending the 18 month old one, or not sending anything but writing on the claim form that further evidence(the new letter from the GP) is to come, and then hope that they wait for the further evidence? I am not sure which route to take. How common is it for them not to wait for additional evidence to come through, and how long do they allow you, once they have your claim back,to get the additional evidence to them?

ESA Assessments are taking months to arrange in fact some members have waited for nine months or more, you really should have time to send the new letter on if it is not ready in time for when you have to return the form.

I think maybe I should go for the' further evidence to come' route perhaps. I need them to know that I still have the problems so I need the evidence room the GP to show this. I guess I am nervous that they will do my assessment so quickly because it is likely to be paper based, (and last time the medical assessors had done it in a week). But I think the new letter is important, and it will cost me a lot so it would be nice to use it!

Hi Gordon
My consultant writes that he believes I meet the support group criteria, should I point this out. Should I write why I believe I should remain in the support group. Or will the assessors feel I am telling them their job?

Does your Consultant understand what the SG criteria are and has he explained which he thinks you should meet?

If you have filled in the ESA50 in detail then it should be obvious from what you have written which of the ESA Descriptors you believe that you meet.
