The stress of waiting for result after PIP medical

Yes, you can request a copy of the assessor's report from DWP. We always suggest waiting a couple of days after the assessment for the report to be sent to DWP. The Decision Maker does not have to abide by the assessor's recommendation, but it is unusual for them to do otherwise.

I'm afraid I don't have any specific suggestions as to how you cope with the waiting. Have you been given any relaxation techniques you can use? Or do you have a CPN you can contact? Otherwise, how about contacting your GP?

It's a standard letter. I would expect a Decision in the next week or two.

This is a standard letter from DWP. Decisions are taking up to 8 weeks in some areas.

In some way, I have forgotten about PIP result, at least for the moment, partly because I haven't heard for nearly 7 weeks. For some reason I felt sure it must come this week but, so far, nothing. They sent me a holding letter 2-3 weeks ago, saying they had all the information they needed to make a decision. But heard nothing since. I know Hurtyback said some areas were taking up to 8 weeks.

Hi May max
I have been reading your thread with interest as I too suffer from M.E and am waiting for my decision of PIP claim after an horendous home assessment 3 weeks ago. I'm not sure how you're getting on? Havery you heard anything?
You're certainly not alone in how the stress is making your illness worse. It has affected me to the point of some sort of breakdown. The assessment was the last straw after having suffered a nasty ME relapse for the last year. It has made me so ill on top of being very ill and bedbound. So you're not alone and I understand exactly what you are going through... I wanted to reach out and wish you the best. Let us know how you get on. Hang in there.
