ESA Assessment Current Timesclae was created by Pinkpenquin
I filled in an ESA50 (4/17) and returned the form 8 weeks ago
I today have contacted CHDA for an update to be told that my completed questionaire is due to be reviewed by a health care professional to decide if I need to have a F2F accessment on this occasion or not

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what this mean, my understanding is it's not even being looked at yet ! Is this correct?
Also any ideas how long current timescales are

Hi Pinkpenguin and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

You are right, it sounds as if your ESA50 has not been looked at yet. This comes as no surprise as there are considerable delays in many areas :(

If you have further questions, please reply to this message and we will do our best to help :)

I find it quite mad,to be honest that on the form it says to list any dates in the next 3 months you cannot attend should you need to have a F2F, I am already 2 months into this.. I took it to mean they would decide within this time .
I am currently in SG and have been since 2011, never had a F2F so was anxious that the delay was due to me having to have a F2F, and was waiting for an available date for this to take place.
I am hoping therefore that the reason is just a rather large backlog...

Hi pinkpenquin,
I sent back my ESA reassessment form on the 21st of Feb 2017 so it's been 32 weeks & I'm still no further forward. I contacted Maximus in April to be told the same as yourself.. I'm in limbo waiting on news one way or another as to the next stage of the procedure. I've been in the S/G since May 2016 & as my payments are still ongoing I am not losing any sleep worrying about the outcome... I believe there are delays in some areas but waiting 32 weeks on a response from someone seems extreme to say the least... Good luck with your claim...

Hi, I returned my ESA50 in July, in support group always had an F2F, however as my ESA runs out this week and I heard nothing was surprised to receive updated award letter still paying me until end of November, I am assuming that my claim has still not been looked at, to be honest I've given up worrying about it, don't need the stress! Seems a lot of us are in the same boat!

Hi, I just posted ref receiving updated letter giving me ESA extended to Nov 17, out of curiosity I rang Jobcentreplus asking if there was a backlog in assessing the claims as mine ran out 4th October, reply was yes, but I was informed a decision had already been made without a medical and I will still be in support group for next 3 years, will be drawing my pension in 2 years, but a great result, may work for you too! I have my fingers crossed for you.
