Hi Derek,
I think they have a stereo type and they don't make allowances for people not fitting this stereo type.

i was once reported as having a Tan! i pooh you not! :woohoo:

i understand your question... they assess your mental state by looking at your appearance i was told at my last tribunal!

There is the potential for this to happen but there are ways around it as well. For example; attending with someone can deal with the issue of going out alone and it can be argued that the assessment is a special case where someone's normal anxiety of going out or of meeting people is offset by the necessity to attend.

I have agoraphobia and depression and because I was extremely anxious and I couldn't explain how my conditions affects me. This still went against me. They asked me what I do in my spare time and I said I knit and read, as far as they were concerned if I was able to do this there was nothing wrong with me. Even though when I read I don't retain the information and I hardly ever finish any knitting because I can't get the pattern right. They will find any excuse not to give you the benefits you are entitled to.
