Hi Everyone,
I currently receive Dla low rate care and high rate mobility for indefinite period.
I sent my PIP claim back on 9th October, signed for as it had to be returned by 14th.
I tracked it on 10th and it said signed for by D. ???
5 weeks past and I heard nothing, I was recovering from an operation and my Mother had a second stroke so the claim wasn't top priority on my mind.
I rang them on Tuesday and they said no record of my claim pack.... and unfortunately I lost proof of posting!!! so its their word against mine and they said my dla will stop on 28th November because I didn't give them enough information!! apparently there is a letter on its way to me telling me this....Can anyone advise me what to do next? do I have any chance of keeping my Dla ? I use this money to buy medical equipment, I have got a tracheostomy , I use a suction machine and nebuliser daily, they cost a lot to replace. any advice would be appreciated, I was very upset on Tuesday, now I feel angry as it took ages to fill in the form and it left me feeling very stressed so it was a relief to finally post it!

You say that you checked that it was signed for, you can try checking your browser history to see if the reference number was stored on your PC.

Failing that check with Royal Mail to see if there is any way to track the envelope.

You don't need the posting receipt just the number on it.

Without proof of delivery you are going to struggle to overturn the Decision with the DWP, you may well be able to do so at appeal, but you can't appeal until you have completed an MR and I have to warn you that an appeal could easily take six months.

You can make new claim for PIP, but this won't help with re-instating the DLA payments.

The PIP Appeal guide has details of requesting an MR and the Submissions guide has a completed MR request you can use as a template.

First of all I must apologise to Gordon for not thanking him for his reply months ago!
Update. I was successful in my PIP claim after a home assessment lasting well over two hours!
Awarded standard mobility and standard care, just missed out by one point for enhanced care.
The backdated money went into my bank account so it was a surprise, however my joy was short lived as next day the Esa Capability for Work Questionnaire arrived! I don't believe it I said. (polite words typed here, not actual words I said)
It took me about two weeks to fill the form in, it made me ill just as the Pip claim had done.
My question is....do they contact you to say we are looking at your claim? or do you only hear from them if they call you in for f2f ? My concern is that paperwork is lost again, even though it has been signed for and I still have proof of posting. I did try calling Dwp but it just kept ringing..will try again. To be honest it has been around ten years since my Esa claim was last looked at and I have forgotten how it all works.

Congratulations on the PIP award, well done.

Don't expect a letter confirming receipt of your ESA50, if you have given you a mobile number then you may receive a text but even that is not certain.

You can check the form was correctly received by contacting Maximus/CHDA
