PIP award review-:medical assessment was created by QWERTY
Hi,

Recent PIP award review has resulted in being sent appt for medical assessment by Atos
.
Quite shocked, condition unchanged, plus sent medical evidence re condition. Also, first assessment at home, now given appt miles away despite stating housebound in form, dr stated this also in letters.

Feel I made a mess of form. Awarded enhanced for both daily living and mobility but didn't think points reflected condition for some eg prep food : they said appliances but actually need/get help. Tried to reference in form about help needed etc. , but just got back appt letter with map.

Please can you advise on what is required to be assessed at home? What evidence, process to follow through etc,

Also, can you tell me if points have been reduced from 2 points to 1 point for using aids and appliances for dressing and for managing toilet needs ? Feel unsure re whole aids and appliances situation.

Thanks

You will need a letter from GP that categorically states that you can attend at the Assessment Providers offices either due t o physical or mental health issues. It's really important that your GP does not suggest that attendance is possible under particular circumstances so phrases that suggest that you "might" have difficulties will almost certainly invalidate the letter.

The only changes to the PIP Descriptors since the benefit started are to the definition of therapy in the Managing Therapy activity and to some of the Descriptors in the Going Out activity.

See the PIP Claim guide for more details.
