PIP home assessment TOMORROW! was created by ziggyrosa
I recently had an assessment form to fill in for PIP as my award runs out next year. I have Fibromyalgia and other associated conditions. This morning I got a call from PIP and consequently I am having a home assessment tomorrow morning. I am so nervous and scared I don't know how to cope. Has anyone had a home assessment? My last one was in a centre. Thanks.

Home assessments are not significantly different from those carried out in the Assessment Providers offices. You can choose where the interview is held and you do not have to allow them look around your home if you do not want to.

If you can, try and have someone with you.

Be aware, they have a habit of turning up 15-20 minutes early.

best of luck

As Gordon says its best to have someone with you Freind or family member that can help explain your problems my wife had to have a home visit regarding her condition
The fact that you are getting a home visit proves to them that you can't attend one of there centres and also proves your disibility ,as Atos ect rather not do home visits the lady that attended my wife's assessment at home was very understanding and just went over the information that we sent to them medical information ect
So don't worry just remember to tell him or her the problems you have day to day and how your disibility affects you it helps to keep some notes so you don't forget to mention all the facts regarding your condition ,I know myself and my wife were feeling no doubt like yourself with all the negative story's you here but to be honest I never experienced this in our case ,my wife has now been transferred from DLA to pip so don't worry look foreword to Xmas sure it will work out ok for you ,,,
