PIP Reviews after Successful Tribunal Appeals

I was successful at appeal in February 2016 but for various reasons the DWP did not commence payment until September 2016, i.e. less than two years until the stated end date of June 2018.

I have long been expecting - dreading - a DWP letter with PIP review form.

I'm a regular forum reader but I must've missed similar posts. Could one of the moderators please post a link to your advice in this situation? Many thanks.

I've moved your post to it's own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in another member's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

If you have not received any communication from the DWP 13 weeks before you current award is due to end then I would contact the DWP office dealing with your PIP claim , but keep an eye on the forum for delays in the assessment process which might mean that you need to contact them earlier.

Yesterday I received a one-page letter from the DWP (dated 1 March, but as we all know, it takes a week to arrive)

"Your PIP is ending. You need to decide if you want to claim again. You'll need to make a new claim if you still need help with daily living or mobility needs.

If you want to claim PIP again, call 0800 917 2222"

Is this a new thing, not to enclose a review/renewal form? Or it because the Tribunal overturned the DWP decision at Appeal?

I'm really anxious about making the call - I have both physical & mental health issues - but know it needs to be done.

Which form should I ask them to send? Or should I not reveal that I know anything about the system, and just say, 'Please Sir, may I have some more PIP?'

Whilst the DWP renew most PIP Claims a year in advance of the award ending, for short awards of a year or two or for Decision that were made by a Tribunal, they don't do the renewal until late in the award and the claimant is advised to make a "new" claim, this is bad terminology as anyone being reassessed while they still have a claim in payment is being reassessed.

The call is exactly the same as you had when you originally claimed PIP.

You will receive a PIP2 form which is the same as when you first claimed.

There have been changes to the guidance so make sure you use the latest guide to help you complete the form.

I made the call a week ago and have received a PIP2 form which took a week to arrive. I know I can request an extension of up to 2 weeks if necessary.

I've started to read through carefully your latest PIP guide and see from pp 11-12 I should have been asked the nature of my condition - I don't recall this, although I was very stressed - nor have I received a completed PIP1 form to sign and return.

I note the guide is dated 28 March 2018. Is the above procedure due to start then?

I'd be very grateful if you could kindly clarify. Thanks in advance

You should have been asked about the nature of your conditions but the PIP1 form is no longer sent to claimants after the call.
