Planning & Following a journey PIP mental illness

Hi, I too was awarded 4 points for planning and following a journey. I have Ibd, ptsd, me and cfs, and anxiety and depression. Running out of letters in the alphabet...I made my first claim last June and went on one of the most horrific roller coaster journeys. Humiliated and degraded. There was no change in the mandatory reconsideration so I made the difficult choice to go to appeal. 13th of this month and with a dwp rep there, i was subsequently moved from 6 points daily living to 11 point. And for the mobility I went from the same 4 points to 10 points. Because I very rarely leave my home and mostly when I have to do so it is with my husband for support..

Hope this helps. Xx

Thanks Jo2468 Unfortunately, I was too scared to appeal his because we lost all of my pip & his carers for me which in turn reduced his ESA so I couldn't risk them downgrading his PIP. as we've lost 2/3 of our income as it is. I'm hoping that when they redo them cos of change in MH rules he might get more esp in mobility, the redo not happening in N Ireland until Stormont Government gets back to work though....
Meantime I have asked for MR on mine since they gave me Nil. CAB not holding much hope though as I am a carer & therefore it's assumed I'm fit. CAB will take me as far as appeal so the temp money we get from NI govt for a while to make up for cut covers us for a bit. I have M.E, Hiatus Hernia, & Anxiety.

Kevin, I asked for an assessor's report 2 weeks before his deadline it never arrived when I phoned up they told me to give it longer. Still no joy so I rang up (now 2 days b4 deadline) asked for another & could they email a copy? "No access to email," he said I'll post another. It arrived 2 days after the deadline with 2 of the pages unreadable. Several things he's supposed to have said but didn't & I'll have to ask again if I want to see the mobility questions cos they didn't photocopy right. Funny cos they managed to get mine to me in 2 days...
As in my other reply to another comment further down I don't dare appeal cos we'll have no money left at all if they downgrade him & I can't trust that they won't even though he was on an Indefinite DLA before all this started. I'm hoping when Stormont gets it's act together & organizes the reviews for MH that he'll get what he should have...

Hello Anthea

I feel for you big time. I too was petrified but something inside me kept saying for me to go on with it and challenge their discrimination against those like me and you and thousands of others. For months I felt sick and my conditions worsened significantly. I am just relieved that the judge and the doctor saw through the dwp rep.

In the meantime, I do so wish you and your husband well and that you get everything you clearly deserve.

Thankfully for Scotland they are looking to turf atos completely so I am hoping that by the time my review comes around it will be a fairer and just system for all.

Take care

Jo xxx
