Hello
My Husband won his PIP Tribunal in 2017 and before that his ESA in 2015.Could you please tell me why every two years we have to go through completing the form , being assessed losing the benefit then winning the tribunal and being put back on the benefit, my husband said he'd be less trouble if he were dead I don't know what I can do ...... Am I completing the forms out incorrectly ( I get help from CAB) every 2 years We have the forms sent and assessment carried out. To-date we have had ESA & PIP assessed every two year lost our claim gone to a Tribunal won and put back on it again . Two weeks ago we had a letter informing us that a Doctor was to call out in ten days to reassess my husband. I rang as we had not completed a claim form and was told we had completed the form in 2016. I said my husband's health was much worse and had been awarded high rate PIP for both mobility and care and was told it didn't make any difference and I should just tell the doctor of on the day how my husbands health has declined. My husband suffers from mental health issues as well as being incontinent and Arthritis in his spine and to sit and go all through this in front of him would cause no end of issues. (I have MS with severe fatigue, cognitive and memory issues and work full time) . The DWP said they would send out a ESA form for me to complete and would arrange a further assessment !, I told them once they had read the form they probably wouldn't need a face to face. I am trying to complete this form over the next week as I have taken a weeks holidays as CAB can not fit me in, Today I had a letter from Captia saying thank you for requesting PIP ! I e-mailed them to say he won Tribunal last year not due to be assessed until Nov 2018, this isn't a new claim but the e-mail came back undelivered I have tried calling but held on for ages. Sorry to go on so.. I 'm so exhausted any ideas ?

Are you using our ESA Claim guides?

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

Are you saying that you have now being reassessed for PIP as well?

It is normal for a PIP claim to be reassessed well before the end of the award, most claim s are done a year in advance, however, this should be done via a new form, either another PIP2 or more usually an AR1 Review form.

Have you received one of these?

Hi Gordon
I completed the new PIP short form and have printed off your guide for the ESA form I requested. We really feel overwhelmed having to complete these and have the benefit removed and having to battle every time. I am hoping your guides will help I’m at the end of my tether

Don't feel that you are alone, I can't tell you what to write but I can explain the criteria if you are struggling, so come back to the forum if you have questions.
