PIP deadline postal delays

Hi there,

Some people say the DWP allow for postal delays, others say if they don’t receive your PIP form by the end of the deadline date, they will stop your claim. Will this still apply with the bad weather? I posted mine yesterday morning (transferring from DLA) and the deadline is Tuesday so I’m just a bit worried it won’t get there on time.

Thank you for your reply. Have given them a call and the person on the end said she couldn’t see it being an issue (especially because their call centre is the only one open today and Royal Mail have said they’re having problems). She has noted it on my file that it may be a little late due to the weather and that I have been in touch to warn them so that the case manager can ‘take it into consideration,’ so I guess at the end of the day it will be at the discretion of the CM. Fingers crossed it gets there.
