Hi Gordon,

Well finally we have received a phone call 5 weeks on to confirm That the DWP will increase mums standard daily rate to enhanced 19 points and will back date the payments, if we withdraw the appeal, we have accepted this as I feel very confused about how I would show the tribunal how going out affects my mum, mums health has detoriated since March and she can’t cope anymore, I am finding it very hard too nothing seems simple to understand, sorry I know it’s my brain it got a mental block. The Mobility component and mental health issues - it’s very hard to understand what and how to show mum would qualify. Is there an easier guide on here Just for this ie mental health and mobility ? I feel I have let mum down just accepting the DWP revised offer but I thought at least she would be receiving the higher amount and we can pay for the extra help she needs, and maybe I can get my head around this issue and appeal the mobility at a later date.
However I wanted to say your help and advice made all the difference, and at the lowest point kept me going. So a heartfelt thank you. This site makes a real difference.
Any further advice on the above issue would be appreciated.

Sometimes it is necessary to compromise, however, even though you have accepted the DWP's offer you can request a new appeal once the offered award has gone into payment.

That said, in a previous post you have said that you mother scored for being Unable to Undertake a Journey and that she does not have any significant problems with walking, based on this, she will not score higher for the Mobility component.
