Weird Severe ME/CFS care conundrum in PIP2

I have severe ME/CFS, which means that as well as getting tired when I move myself, I also find it tiring and distressing to be lifted/pushed/touched by someone else. So getting help from a carer is often not an option either.

So re PIP2 Q6 "Washing", the exertion required for sponge-bathing and drying myself in bed too much for me to do myself but this is almost as true if a carer does it. Consequently I generally go unwashed.

Does that mean the DWP will say. "Well if you're not going to do it either way you don't need points/ money for it?"

No not at all, if you can't wash then you score the points. Remember the test is your ability to complete an activity reliably and on the majority of days.

Make sure that you use our PIP Claim guide, it details and explains the criteria you are being asked to meet.
