TOPIC: PIP award length questions?

PIP award length questions? 5 days 8 hours ago #217733

a) In which cases do the DWP tend to give 5 year or 10 year awards for PIP?

b) Do they give 5 or 10 year awards to the claimants FIRST ever PIP claim (which is a transfer from DLA) - but their first ever PIP claim?

(or do the tend to wait for their 2nd/3rd claim in a few years time, when their first PIP award length has ended?

c) Do they offer an indefinite award?, if not what is the longest period?
for claimants where the assessor suggest "no review will be needed" due to the claimants condition getting worse (assessors opinion)

a - It's all about the likelihood of change in the claimant's conditions, 5 years means they are expecting change but not for some time, On-Going means that there is no expectation of change or that the claimant has already received an Enhanced award and their conditions can only get worse.

b - Yes

c - No, an On-Going award with a review after ten years is the maximum.
