Data requests

Finally got through today and got put on hold while the adviser checked on my details...........guess what, they hung up.

Phoned again today and was told the computers went down and disconnected me yesterday. The fella I spoke to today put me on hold while he tried to find out what had happened. 10 minutes later he said that an email had been sent to the "data department" and I would have to wait for them getting in touch with me. This is a different story from last week when the call handler spoke to the "data department" and told me to wait for a call from them in the following 3 hours. Seems to me there is no structure in place for handling data requests. ICO tomorrow I think.

Following a "chat box" conversation with ICO, they said to write again asking for a reason why DWP had not replied to my data access request. So I worded a letter in which I reminded DWP of their obligation. I gave them 5 days to respond. Fingers crossed.

Finally found out what had happened about my data access request. The DWP got my request on the 9th august and it was just labelled under "other evidence" when it was scanned in. The call handler apologised and said that DWP was at fault. He said that they would deal with my request asap. Let's see what happens now. Just goes to show what keep ringing them can do if you're not satisfied.

Got a letter from DWP this morning asking for just what I was asking them for. I had asked for all they had about me and were there was any intervention and decision making plus any video footage etc. Talk about time wasting.....I'll let you know.
