Moving around question? was created by Gareth56
Concerning this question on the PIP 2 questionnaire:-

Q14c Do you use a wheelchair or similar device to move around safely, reliably and repeatedly and in a reasonable time period?

Does this refer to using a wheelchair or similar device indoors or outdoors? When I'm outdoors I use either a mobility scooter or my wife pushes me in a wheelchair as I can't propel myself in one. I don't use either a wheelchair nor a mobility scooter indoors as there isn't the space.

Given my situation what would my answer to that question be, Yes, No or Sometimes?

Thanks

It's for outdoors but understand that PIP does not consider your use of a wheelchair or scooter, it is a walking test only.

Excuse ones ignorance here Gordon but just for clarification if I have to use a wheelchair or a mobility scooter when outdoors then this indicates that I cannot carry out the activity i.e. walking when outdoors? Ergo ones answer to Q14c would be Yes...?

So yes, your answer to 14c would be "yes" but you are putting the conclusion before the proof by saying that using a scooter shows you cannot carry out the activity, ignore the scooter and explain the distance that you can reliably walk on the majority of days.
