ESA support group - reassessment was created by ejayne72
I have been in the support group for contribution based ESA FOR 7 years. Today i have received a new form to fill in, they say for reassessment. My mental health has worsened so i was wondering, does anyone know what the chances are of them taking me out of the support group this time around? Thanks

I'm sorry but it's impossible to answer this, it is going to depend on why you qualify for the SG and how well you describe your problems on the form.

You don't say when you were last assessed but there have been updates to the DWP guidance in the last couple of years, see our ESA Claim guides for more information.

Hi gordon, thanks. I have never had an assessment, i was so suicidal at the time they accepted all the evidence sent by my gp and they based their decision on just the paper. I have severe mental health problems and so was put straight in tne support group - does this help?

I understand that you are seeking reassurance but there are too many factors for me to do this, that said, don't assume that they will remove you from the SG, you just need to complete the form in as much detail as possible and supply up to date evidence of your problems if you can.

I see In the new ESA form, there are two sections - physical health and mental. In order to stay in the upport group where i am currently, do you have to score the most points in both sections or just either? Thanks

The ESA form has always been divided into two, questions 1-10 cover physical issues and 11-17 mental health ones.

You need to score a total of 15 points or more across all of the questions to be placed in the WRAG, the Support Group is not points based, you need to meet one or more of the SG Descriptors, see our ESA Claim guide for a list of these.
