PIP TRIBUNAL was created by HAZEL
I am struggling to write my PIP appeal letter.
I have had PIP for the last 4 years and in September was asked to complete a form stating if my condition had changed. I said it hadn’t and was called in for a face to face meeting. I ended up with nil points and asked for a reconsideration and was awarded 2 points. The assessor had told many lies saying I had said from memory that we had a bank account and that I had stated what medication I was on and what does. I was never asked these questions . Also stated other things I was able to do but I am unable to do them . I feel so upset that I am not believed . I am struggling to write how I feel and just feel worthless . My husband wrote a letter stating the meeting was not as stated and the letter was saying I could do things that I couldn’t but his letter was not acknowledged

Go back to basics and explain how you still meet the PIP criteria.

Have you made a complaint about the report to the Assessment Provider? If not then do so. It's a separate process to your appeal but it raises additional concerns about the content and you never know, the AP may agree with you.

I'm not saying you should ignore the report for your appeal but tackle it by undermining the facts recorded and stick to issues that will score you points, so how do the suggestions about your memory help you to score?

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have only received 2 points for the daily living part whereas when I appealed in 2014 when my PIP was refused, I received over 20 points. This time I have been given 12 points for the mobility part as I am unable to go on journeys by myself. I cannot see why I have only been given 2 points for help needed to cook and prepare a simple meal and no other points. I think I have been awarded these points to shut me up as it were as by not appealing I would not receive any back payments. But I do still meet the criteria for the daily living

Have you already requested an appeal and are now creating your submission or is this to actually request the appeal?

Hi, I have to request a tribunal. For the face to face assessment I received no points. I did the mandatory reconsideration and was then awarded the 2 points for the daily living and 12 points for the mobility. I have downloaded the appeal form but there isn’t enough room to enter everything I want to say. Do I mention the assessor on this form? I am getting totally confused and anxious about this next step. Thank you

Whilst you can, you do not need to go into detail on the SSCS1 form, you can make s submission to the appeal once you have seen the DWP's one, which will be sent to you once your request is accepted by the Tribunal Service.

There is a sample completed SSCS1 and submissions in the MR & Appeal document in the PIP area.
