WRAG First Meeting & Holidays was created by 18BG
I received a letter today asking me to attend my fist meeting with my work coach this Thurs 16 Nov at 11 am.

My questions are as follows:-
1) I am unable to attend any appointments in the morning because of my health condition and the earliest I can manage is 2 pm. My WCA and Tribunal Hearing all took this into account and were scheduled accordingly at 2 pm.
Can I ask for the meeting to be rescheduled accordingly and will it be considered to be a " good reason"?

2) I had made plans to go and stay with my friend, outside London, from tomorrow evening for 3 weeks as I live alone and severely depressed. I am awaiting appointment from IAPT.
My friend is coming to collect me as I am unable to get there by myself.
Can I tell the JobCentre to defer the appointment for 3 weeks as I will be away from home/ on holiday or will I be sanctioned for not attending?

1. Yes, this would be a reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act.

2. You can only ask.

Success!

Phoned DWP this am and requested change of time and postponement.

Both agreed without fuss! In fact first meeting for WRAG has been postponed for 2 months on account of my current mental health.

Thanks for your guidance.
