Finally received copy of Assessor's report after my phone prompt. Assessor was 'Paramedic'. Although in Functional History acknowledged use of dosette box , 1-2 week forgets despite box and friend prompting on daily basis. Concluded Managing therapy - ' able to complete this task reliably majority of days' Award letter gave zero points! I thought use of dosette box should give 1 point? Friend has 11 points Daily living so this would have moved him to enhanced rate.
I am very cautious to advise he applies for MR in case they down grade points elsewhere. I would appreciate your thoughts.
I have yet to fully go through the report to see if any other potential points not awarded so may have further questions

I can't really offer an opinion on this, your friend needs to go back to basics and look at the PIP Descriptors and how they meet them.

For the dosette box, they need to show a need for the box on the majority of days, issues that are associated with this are sorting out the daily or weekly medication, reminders to take the medication, a check that the medication has been taken. They will need to explain why they need this help, what condition and how often they are affected.

If they can't score for the box then they are going to either score higher for an activity that they have scored form, this is not always a case of having more difficulty, many of the Daily Living activities introduce additional criteria as the points increased.

Or, they need to score for an activity that they have not scored for, they need to think about why they have not scored, the issues will be similar to the dosette box above.
