Advice please on do a care component review

Hi, i am on dla was lifetime award. High mobility low care. Now much worse social workers visited and advised me to ring dla and ask for a review form please for the care component . As they are setting up a care package. I told her I am expecting a call to be asked yo apply for pips any time. She said you are too old to apply for pips. And I am legally the responsibility of dla as a life timer award which no longer exist. . She was very adamant that this is the case. However I am frightened of rocking the boat. I don't want to go through the rig parole of pip medicals sooner rather than later. Please advice if you are able to back up what she has told me please? Im 68 next month and gave been in limbo since i got my pension , about 5 months after mt 60th birthday. Kind regards . Susan

Thank you Gordon I knew i was right as I had contacted you some years ago. That date has changed twice I think , they have moved the goal posts . I only just got my gov pension by a few months was 60 in Dec 2010 pension 8 months later. You answered my query straight to the point, yes it will initiate my "invitation" to apply. If only the social worker was right , she works in the financial dept and told me that she knows things that they don't make public! She wrote on my form that she has advised me to ask dla for review on care conponent . Im in catch 22 now as i quallified for free domicilty care help from my council[
