ACCESS TO WORK was created by Kay_709
Hello everyone, I am new on this forum. I have recently had my DLA mobility component taken away and received the standard rate of daily living from initially getting indefinate higher rate of DLA and lower rate mobility.
I am going to ask for a mandatory reconsideration (any advice on where to begin would be lovely!) i have been reading the very useful guides on here too.
I just wanted to ask if people who work can still use Access To Work if the mobility component is now taken away?
I am waiting for the assessors report but quick question - I sent in ALOT of evidence initially from Drs reports to scans and letters supported by my Neurologists would i need to RESEND these again assuming the guys at DWP & ATOS have not even looked at them? They said on the form the more medical evidence we have the better it supports your claim, clearly that isn't the case. Has anyone had any luck with resending documents and back up letters from Consultants?
Thank you.

It's not something we advise on but there is nothing in the AW eligibility criteria that requires a Mobility award.
Challenge the Daily Living because you reasonably believe you should have scored 12 points, not because you had a DLA HRC award, the criteria for this has no equivalent in PIP and in no way implies an enhanced award is appropriate,
The PIP Mobility criteria is stricter than the equivalent for DLA, how did you expect to qualify?
You shouldn't need to send any reports, etc. again but I would refer to them in your MR.
Have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.
