Recording Capita F2F interview was created by Jennifer
Hi, I recall reading information regarding this over the last year, but now its my turn for home interview on 26th November. I had asked for paper based report, as the DWP recommendations state that individuals which should not require a f2f are those with "strong evidence on which to advise on the case and a face-to-face consultation is likely to be stressful for the claimant (for example, claimants with autism, cognitive impairment or learning disability)"

I sent 17 reports from Hospital Consultants, Psychiatrists, Physiotherapist, Social Worker, GP reports both recent and historical. I have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (Aspergers), Social & Generalised Anxiety Disorder and struggle with Self Harm when stressed. I was pretty sure I'd not be asked to have a F2F... I'm going to try getting a letter from a private GP stating it would be detrimental to health. NHS gp doesn't do this anymore. I take opiod painkillers for spinal & joint pain which makes me dopey, I'm terrified I'm going to mess up the interview...

I told Capita this evening that I would be recording the interview, I said I purchased 2 identical voice recorders & tapes, but they insist it has to be a single recording device capable of producing 2 tapes / CD's and that such a device is available in Argos - I searched under every heading and nothing like that exists in Argos. However Capita website states:

"Your recording equipment must be able to produce two identical copies of the recording at the end of the assessment" so surely my 2 dictaphones would fulfill this requirement?

There is no requirement for a single device to produce both recordings it is perfectly acceptable to use two cassette recorders. Capita, even in Northern Ireland, know this and have allowed recordings in these circumstances multiple times.

The only thing I would do is use new tapes, still in the wrapping.

If you have not done so already, confirm your intention to record in writing the Assessment Centre where your appointment is.

Thank you so much Gordan, I wouldn't have thought about confirming it in writing.
