ESA - retro IB to CB not IR- passported benefits

Hi

I understand that the loss of passported benefits regarding the error in transfer from IB to IR, was being looked into and that something was to come out about this at the end of October.

Certainly for our son he has had to have monthly scripts all this time due to his high risk status, often twice a month or more if he is very volitile. Also all dental and other treatment has required sedation and it has all been very expensive and had he been entitled to IR it would have been mostly free.

Although he has received back pay it only just about covers some of the additional costs he has had from his illness while being on CB ESA. A quick calc just on basic scripts and last 4 years dental is approx £4,149.

Is anyone in the know aware of any updates on this please.

many thanks

As far as I am aware, there is no intention for the DWP to compensate claimants for any of the additional charges that claimants have experienced due to them not receiving Income Related ESA, it appears that they are relying on claimants pursuing the matter with the relevant local authorities.
