Using free post PIP envelope to send form back was created by Quirkybookworm
Hi, I’m hoping to have my sons PIP form all filled out in a few days, but does anyone know how long it will take for them to receive the form if I send it in the enclosed free post envelope? Or should I just send it recorded first class? Just want to make sure it gets there before the deadline, thanks.

If you can afford it then I would always recommend sending the form using a Tracked post so you have proof of delivery.

you can always ask for a FREE proof of posting receipt if you hand it over at the PO

Strangely, the DWP don't seem to operate the same "if it's sent, it's received" policy for claimants sending them information.

I submitted an ESA50 form for a ESA WCA a few years ago. I sent the form first class recorded on time, but the DWP claimed it arrived late.

It turns out the form is delivered to a mail handling site, and mail is then forwarded to the relevant office, and in my instance, the DWP considered to form to have arrived when it arrived at it's final destination.

Naturally I successfully complained about this and pointed out that my form was received by the DWP on time, and any delays were only caused by the DWP's own procedures, and that no mention was made at any point that extra days would be added by the DWP's procedures.

I can't prove it, but I have a funny feeling if I did not state I had proof I had sent the form on time and it was received by the DWP on time, the DWP would simply reject my claim as being submitted late.

Hi, Quirkybookworm (love the name!)

I put all the documents in the enclosed reply paid envelope and then asked to send it special delivery (tracked all the way, not just signature at delivery), and my post office allows the value of the reply paid bit off the cost. I had a lot of documents, so it saved over a pound.
