Using free post PIP envelope to send form back

Hi Quirkybookworm

This may unfortunately not help you if you've not already set this up a but when I started my PIP claim off over the phone to the DWP they asked me whether I was happy to receive text messages from them concerning the progress of my PIP claim. I said yes and subsequently received text messages on my mobile from them including one confirming when they'd received my completed PIP application form. They also sent reminder texts before the cut-off date, although I did not need them I thought it was a good facility. They're meant to actually receive the form by the cut-off date so it needs to be posted at least several days earlier than that, you should also phone them if you think it might be a little late so that they will allow for this. I hope this helps you in the future, if not this time round. Good luck with your sons's claim.

I tried to send a freepost envelope back to them today, I wanted to make sure it got there quickly so wanted to pay for guaranteed next day delivery only to be told by the post office that “ without a postcode” I could not use that service. I did ring the dwp to ask for the postcode, waited 40 mins for call to be answered and told they could not give me the postcode. So the only option was proof of postage.

Thank you everyone, my plan is to send the completed form back on Thursday, so it will be a week before the due date, I think I will just try and send it first class special delivery and will keep my proof of postage. I think I did give my phone number for progress of my application, but I completely forgot about that so thank you for reminding me Mr B :) can’t wait to get it filled in and sent off now, it’s all so mentally draining! Thanks so much everyone, you’ve all been a big help xxx
