PIP Medical Factual Report was created by bonesticks
received my notice that DLA ceasing and now need to start my application for PIP - i'm doing my homework and reading all your guidance
I have M.E. - i do not have any medical treatment or therapy for this as there is nothing relevant avaiable - so my GP has little awareness of how this affects my daily activities or mobility and (as far as i know) has no recent relevant evidence they could provide - for the past few years i have only seen my GP for health conditions which are not connected to my M.E.
MY Question:what happens if i decline to give permission for DWP to contact my GP?

In reality, those assessing you are very unlikely to contact any of the medical contacts you could include in the form anyway, so it's not going to make much difference.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi bone sticks. Only a thought but are you putting down your other conditions your GP is aware of that may score you points for PIP as this could help you qualify along with your M.E. Have you an M.E. diagnosis letter, as I sent a copy from years ago. Also I completed 3 diary sheets from this PIP members site and know this helped the assessor understand how M.E affected my quality of life especially as it is a variable and invisible illnesss. I didn’t have anything else either so try not to worry about up to date records. As we know nothing much can be done for M.E other than medication, which gives side effects so we are parked by the NHS so just explain this. Good luck.
