I plucked up the courage to apply for my assessment report and it just arrived. I haven't to be honest read it thoroughly because my adrenalin is so high I can't cope right now, BUT there are no points mentioned on it at all. Am I making the right assumption that where there is a big black dot I match that up to the descriptors/points that you supply in the Members Section and that tells me what points I scored?

Also can someone please tell me what MSO and MSE mean? From the little bit I did speed read I noticed those acronyms a couple of times.

How likely would a decision maker be to overturn the recommended points and lower them?

Final question for now, if I get an award shorter than I think I can cope with (1 year would kill me) can I do a MR for the award length, and if I did that would I risk the actual award itself?

HAve a look at the sample report in the PIP area, there should be a selection for each Descriptors starting on page 9.

Is there a typical timescale between them sending out the 'we now have the information to decide if we can award you PIP' letter and actually deciding?

I received the report myself last Wednesday 21st, and seems to have taken them another 4 days to decide they have enough information and a further 4 days for that letter to reach me.

What a waste of time, energy, and paper, not to mention shredding someone's already frazzled nerves because a brown envelope of doom arrives when they are awaiting the axe to fall!

So my question basically is, how much longer is it likely to be now they have decided what they should have known a day or so after my assessment, that they have enough information to make a decision.

Best guess is 4-6 weeks from the date of the assessment, if this brings you into the Christmas period then it may be the New Year, if you have not heard by Christmas then give them another call as Decision Letters can easily take 10-14 day to arrive but providing it is shown as sent then they can tell you the result over the phone.

6 weeks will be Christmas eve, so it looks as if I might have to wait until 2019 to be put out of my misery one way or the other! Thank you for your prompt response though!
