Using pip assessment report as evidence for esa

Hi Gordon,
In 2016 I had a pip assessment, I am currently waiting for the esa review to arrive (not been reviewed since 2012). In the health professionals comments where he witnessed my difficulty walking (which is the same today) and stated this in the report, would it be acceptable to attach a copy to the esa review to further support evidence from my GP and my claim form.

It's a bit old to have much weight and you need to remember that the ESA test is not a walking test.

Thank you Gordon,

Perhaps I should have said moving about rather than walking. I am currently awaiting either a decision or an appointment for another health assessment for a pip review so if the 'health professional' writes in my favour about my difficulty in moving about would it be acceptable to use this as evidence from a professional to support my esa review?

Yes, but as I said ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking, it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

Thank you Gordon,

I've got it now, now I remember that I had to explain why I could not use a wheelchair at my last esa review 6 years ago.
