Hello all. I am hoping someone here can advise me please.

I am a 65yr old single disabled man living in my own (mortgaged home). I am in receipt of PIP at the enhanced rate for daily living and mobility. Until last month I was in receipt of ESA in the support group. I reached 65 and received my state Pension so my ESA ended. I only now get PIP and my state Pension.. I completed the DWP Pension Credit Calculator that indicated I should be entitled to Pension Credit but I have just got a letter saying I do not qualify. because I have a tiny annuity of £26 per week I have made a mandatory reconsideration request
My questions are: 1) Does the DWP stop my Mortgage interest Loan? (I stress loan)
2) Does my 100% discount for Council Tax finish too?
It seems very unfair that I have worked all my life until I became ill and disabled and just because I reach 65 I have any support pulled from under me.
I am worried sick and any advice will really help. Thank you in advance

Neither PIP nor your State Pension are Income Related benefits, Pension Credit is, you need to be in receipt of an IR benefit to continue to receive SMI so I would expect it to be stopped, make sure you contact the DWP if it isn't as failing to do so would result in a recoverable overpayment.

You will have to check with your Local Council about the discount as each LA operates their own rules on this.

I thought as much so in essence just because I am now a pensioner all "safety nets" are taken away and I face a real threat of losing my home. What I cant understand is that when I complete the DWP'S own "check you eligibility" test and truly enter all my circumstances it says I am entitled to Pension credit I have tried it 4 times and every time it comes up with a yes and exactly the same figures. How can that be?

I'm afraid I can't answer you but if you have not received the DWP's calculations for your PC claim then you can make a Subject Access Request
