Christmas Bonus

I never receive the £10 Christmas bonus and neither does my wife despite us both being entitled to it. Each year I try ringing and end up listening Vivaldi for an hour before being told curtly 'ring back in January'. It kind of defeats the object of a Christmas bonus. The last few years I have gone to MP and managed to claw back seven years of it after being told it's 'too late'. Is there any consensus on when this is supposed to be paid  and is there an easier way to apply for it then having to ring DWP and be on hold for over an hour? I know its meant to be paid automatically but it never happens. My wife claims ESA and we are both on PIP

Hiya, like you I have never received the £10 bonus despite being eligible.
I know some in the past have moaned when I have said I have not received it, however it is a matter of principal if you are eligible then you should receive it.
Whether or not I spend it on myself or give it to charity is a personal matter.
I have contacted the DWP a few times in regard to this matter and have been given different stories, re 1 only those on IR Benefits or we decide who gets it or not amongst other rubbish.
You feel that you should not push as it could rock the boat, altho it should not, however we all know how vicious the DWP personnel like to be if they can !!!
So again I doubt I shall receive it, I have been on CB benefits fitting the criteria since 1999 following a motorcycle accident at work and never yet got it well maybe once I think.

So to answer your question, me thinks it depends on what they feel like, obviously all those on IR do, as it seems, the way IR benefits are dealt with , differently.

I forgot about my bonus. When should it be paid as i havent received mine either.

Thanks. I am eligible for it. I'm on iR ESA but they never pay it. I had to go to MP after trying to get back several years and them saying it was too late. I got back 7 years but problem persists. I got last year's in July last year after complaining again. They never rectified problem. I am annoyed this keeps happening. Ringing is futile as an hour on hold running up a bill defeats the object. Only to be told 'ring back in January' and do it all ovr again.
