PIP REVIEW ASSESSMENT

PIP REVIEW ASSESSMENT was created by DavidMR
I had my PIP 2-year review assessment yesterday and I am emotionally and physically drained! I was questioned non-stop for almost 2 hours. I assumed because it was a review, it would only be focused on any changes that had occurred in the last 2 years! Not so! I was totally unprepared for this. The Assessor was polite and friendly but obviously, she had to bombard me with these questions because she had to answer them on the computer. They even wanted to know when I left school, what job I had on leaving school and what exams I had passed? I am 70. How can this all be relevant. She asked questions about everything that I had put on my original form (not just the review form):( and was even worse and longer than the original assessment I had 2 years ago. It certainly was not based on just the last 2 years and certainly was not just a review. I was originally on DLA for life but now on PIP I had to have this review after the initial 2 years awarded. I am not going to get better and have got worse, so what is their point. Do they expect I am going to make a miraculous recovery? I am on the higher rate so they know I can't be expecting any more money. Has anyone else had this humiliation at a review?

I am afraid there is no difference in the assessment between a new claim and a reassessment.

You should be able to request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim although I would wait a couple of days to make sure that it has been received.

Based on what we have seen in the forum, a Decision will be about 8 weeks but this could be longer due to the Christmas break

Gordon.

I had a copy of Assessors review report which contains a lot of untruths and she has played down my disabilities. I had the enhanced rate for mobility and daily living allowance before the review (and used to have DLA for life at the enhanced rate)but I see that she has now put that I can walk 50m whereas I can only walk less than 20m. Also, it looks like I am 2 points short on getting enhanced daily living allowance again. One of the things she has put I can do and I told her I couldn't do. I will have to wait for the decision to see what points I will be awarded. Does the Case Manager go solely on what the assessor has put or do they look into the whole picture? The Assessor I had two years ago was very good and accurate and did not downplay my disabilities and considering I am worse two years on I am surprised at this review Assessors report.

The CN should review all of the documentation including your claim form and any evidence that you provided but they will give more weight to the assessment report than anything else.

THANKS. I THOUGHT SO. iT IS SAD HOW SOME ASSESSORS PLAY DOWN DISABILITIES AND YET OTHERS ARE HONEST AND LISTEN TO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.
