PIP Face to Face Assessment

Hi Gordon,
I got a phone call earlier today asking me if I could attend a PIP Face to Face assessment tomorrow.I was a bit taken aback by the extremely short notice ,but thought that if I said no ,that this would be classed as refusing to attend so said Yes. I was told that they would text me with the address & time just so that I would have it on my phone. A couple of hours later I got another phone call just making sure that I would be attending tomorrow.I said that I was still waiting for a text message to confirm it and was told that they could confirm it over the phone now,but I still wanted a text message confirming it. So was told that one would be sent to me after the phone call. I saw this as an opportunity to ask if there would be any problems with my wife attending and actually speaking up on my behalf as my memory is absolutely shot because of my medication & have been told by a pain specialist that CRPS can also cause "brain fog" ,so I know I'll be asked questions that I won't remember the answers to. I was told "No", I will have to answer the questions .So I explained that in all of the documentation which i included with my PIP form it clearly states that I have serious problems with my memory and was then then told ,"yes it should be okay,but your wife can't answer everything for you".
I'm now wondering whether I should have said yes that I can attend with less than 24 hours notice.
I did get the text message confirming the appointment about half an hour later,but it's now the worry tomorrow if whoever i'm sat in front of will not allow my wife to speak.
Any advice would certainly be appreciated please.In hindsight I wish I had said that I can't attend ,but that's just delaying the inevitable I guess.

Hi Gordon,
I had the face to face this morning which was over half an hour late , but I was dead stressed out about it anyway so that didn't really help me. Surprisingly though the assessor didn't have any problems at all with my wife speaking and to be honest my wife probably spoke more than me as I was in excruciating pain today which the assessor could clearly see and also said that she wouldn't ask me to perform any form of activity with my left leg as my CRPS was clearly visible from my foot and up my leg.
The assessor actually seemed quite nice,but I guess I'll wait and see what the end result will be as she said it will probably be about 6 weeks before the DWP write to me with the decision.
I just thought I'd let you know and anybody else that reads this that at least on this occasion it was okay for my wife to speak, just incase anyone else is in a similar situation,but I guess it's down to the assessor on the day.

Our experience was very similar to CAP- I was allowed to speak on behalf of my wife, and the assessor saw my wife's degree of pain so didn't do the full range of movement tests.
