ESA to UC query

Before I start my query, I'll advise you on the benefits my wife and I receive:

Personal Independence Payment - My wife receives Higher Mobility & DL; I receive Higher DL and Standard Mobility.

ESA - We are both in the Support Group, and have been since 2012, however, mine remains as Contribution Based, and my wife's was changed by DWP last year to Income-Related, giving us extra money (SDA). We never requested this, it must have been a GMS match. We don't have anyone receiving CA for us, hence the SDA addition.

HB - we receive this.

UC area: we live in a full-service UC area.

I have been reading up on the benefits of work in relation to mental health, and have spoken to a brilliant member of my local JCP about starting some 'Permitted Work' of less than 16 hours per week at NMW, in order to meet the PW requirements. I have completed a 'turn2us' benefit calculation, and financially we would not lose out, however, the lady at the JCP cannot tell me that if declaring PW would lead to a UC trigger. To trigger a UC claim would make us worse off (particularly if I cannot cope with working); until the transition period commences (whenever that will be!)

I have researched the UC triggers online, and cannot see PW being mentioned, but this isn't surprising as it's relatively unknown or used.

Any advice or signposting, please?
