What happens to PIP recordings - according to IAS

As I am sure a lot of you are aware, after I requested a MR after it was recommended that I receive zero points by the HCP, I did in fact get it overturned and subsequently got my old PIP award reinstated.

That was higher rate mobility and standard daily living.

Since then I have taken to complaining both directly to IAS and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The latter is still in progress, but I have had my complaint escalated to the second stage with IAS.

After doubting that the recording was ever sent to the DWP I have been told this in a letter.

" I can confirm that the Health Professional (HP) did send the audio recording to the appropriate department and in line with current audio recording processes. After discussing this matter with our Client Relations Medical Advisor (CRMA) I have been advised that we are unable to clearly hear the conversation from the audio recording. The audio is unclear and low in volume."

It then goes on to say: "It is disappointing to have an audio recording and be unable to review its contents. As we cannot use the audio recording to clarify our position or support your concerns we would be unable to verify your assertion that the HP included incorrect information within the consultation report."

It then goes on to back the HP by saying "the report was well-written with all 12 descriptors being justified correctly." Then it says: "I do acknowledge that mistakes are possible, even from a qualified HP."

Well it all cpsounds like some sort of get-out clause to me, almost as contradictory as the report in question.

I'd be really interested to know if any other members have had letters or told anything like this.

By the way, I had no problem listening to my copy if the recording.

Phrank.
