PIP reconsideration was created by Mary Starbuck
Hello, I'm new to this Forum so apologies if I'm doing it wrong. I am about to request a reconsideration of PIP decision after getting zero points. I have requested a copy of the HP report as advised by CAB, where I have an appointment on 7 February. They mentioned getting doctors reports but I'm not sure if I need one. I have already sent off my diagnosis report with my form, and at the assessment I handed them a report by my therapist. I'm wondering if it is any use getting something from my GP. Is a GP seen as the most important person to give evidence? I didn't ask in the beginning because I knew he has no idea about how my condition affects me in relation to these questions (as opposed to my therapist who knew immediately what was required).
Thank you

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

New medical evidence is not always necessary for an MR but it is still worth your asking your GP to see if they will provide any, the DWP will not now do this. If you want to provide some structure to what your GP might write then there is a GP Notes document in the PIP area that might help, either the GP can fill it in or use it to help them write a relevant letter.

You should also have a look at our MR and Appeal documents that are also in the PIP area.

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
