Due to post-surgical cognitive difficulties, I misread the date of my original WCA. DWP re-scheduled my session for early January. I did not go to spend time with family/ friends over the Xmas period as my WCA interview was scheduled for that time. As being available for both the WCA interview and spending time with family would have exacerbated my health conditions.
On arrival to the WCA offices, I learnt that the professional who was supposed to assess me was off sick and as there was no one else available to conduct my assessment, it had been cancelled.
They immediately arranged a 2nd date for me. I did ask for a later date, but was told that if I did not accept that date, my file would be closed and sent back to DWP. The rescheduled date was super inconvenient for me, but I felt I had no other option but to accept the date I was given. I would appreciate the moderators thoughts on this matter.

DWP policy is that claimants are allowed two opportunities to attend a WCA, by your own omission you failed to attend the first so they would not allow you to move the second date.
