I didn't think DLA were that quick

Hiya

My DLA was due for renewal on 6 April 2011 so when I got the 8 page renewal form, I made sure that I put as much information in it as I could and I also added 8 extra pages to support my renewal.

The form was sent to the DLA Office on 23/02/11 by Recorded Delivery, and it was received on 24/02/11.

I expected a decision to take anything up to 11 weeks, but I got hell of a shock when an award letter arrived yesterday (09/03/11) dated 04/03/11, which means its only taken 7 days (excluding the weekend) to come to a decision. Is this the quick decision that has been posted on here?

I have got High Rate Mobility indefinitely and Low Rate Care indefinitely, the rated are the same as I had before but now they are indefinite instead of giving an end date.

However one thing I am concerned about is I put a lot of extra written info with the form, pointing out the care I need day and night, but the award letter only mentions one thing I had put about my care and nothing else at all. My night needs and some of my care needs weren't mentioned on the award letter at all.

What do you think I should do, will they tell me how exactly they came to the Low Care decision without reading all the info, if I ask them?

I was thinking of contacting our local Welfare Rights Office and seeing what they think, is that a good idea or not?

seen five days turn around talked of on here.... mine was less than 2 weeks I think,

did the time needed at night add up to say 2 lots of 20 mins ? or less

you need to take advice if your thinking of asking them to look at it again, and you can lose what you got too

As in the post before get advice re decission, but just goes to show how quick DWP can be when making decissions they want to.
