Re:Transfer from IB to ESA was created by paula
Hi stuck on question 11 and 13 with my illness and question 11 it is how depressed I am and also the side effects of my medication as I suffer daily with fatigue, apathy and fogginess due to the medicaton lack of concentration and confusion, the tick boxes are so vague, and with 13 at the moment I am struggling every day to do the most basic things but there are times when I can do some of them and so not sure what to tick. They are the most misleading boxes i think i have ever seen, i have looked at the guides and still not sure what to say as i have a chronic form of bipolar and boarderline personlaity disorder. Any advice would be helpful. aLSO in regards hospital vsiits, do they want every hospital admission, including sugeries how far back do they want us to go also with the in patient box, i was admitted this year, although not in the last three months. Is it the last three months they want to know about? Need a degree and then some to fill out this form

The tick box on question 15 is causing me hassle. It says not very often, varies the thing is I cannot get to places I do not know at all as I suffer really bad anxiety and I completely panic and I need someone to be with me as I go to pieces. I am not sure how best to answer this. Especially as I get dla lower mobility for this help!

I assume you are referring to 11.Learning How to do Tasks and 13.Initiating Actions.

First of all, don't feel constrained to fit in with the tick boxes, they are for the convenience of the DWP and ATOS, not you.

Think about your condition in broader terms, how are you the majority of the time? then look at what is left. So as an example, if the for the majority of a day you are affected, then say so, if you are affected four or more days a week then say so.

Think about how you are affected, what makes things worse, are you less able when you are tired,? Does your medication impact on your capabilities? What about time of day?

If you are struggling with the guides, move onto another section and come back to these ones in a couple of days.

With regard to the hospital admissions, they are primarily interested in anything which is related to your current conditions. However, if those conditions have been going on for a long time, then listing older appointments, will establish a hostory of treatment.

Hope this helps, I'm sure others will comment tomorrow (later today).

Hi,

in answer to this question, it is more or less exactly the same as Gordon has given to your other question 0 in that the tick boxes are there for the convenience of ATOS/DWP. If your exact circumstances do not meet the tick box, you can explain your needs separately.

Hi Pete

I am also stuck on question 15

Does this mean I can leave the boxes unticked with an explanation at the side.

Or am I compelled to put a tick in one of the choices they have supplied for their (I think) computer scoring purposes?

I cannot leave home on my own to places I dont know at all - But there isnt a "No" Box choice to tick - I cant understand this.

Could I leave the boxes blank and explain that I cannot do this task at the side with an explanation of why I cant do this task

(None of the tick box answers apply to my circumstances in question 15)

I am really confused with this one

Thanks for any help

Hi stu

B&W is unable to answer specific questions relating to claims. We are able to answer general questions only, as we don't have experience of your case, we can't answer every question.

As you are stuck on a number of different points, it would be appropriate for you to get face to face advice from such as a Citizens Advice Bureau, or other Advice Agency, with specialist Welfare Rights advisers.

You can of course make full use of the guides in the orange Members Only section to assist you complete your claim.

Kind regards

Michael
