phone call 3 months AFTER medical

I habe just had a phone call, they said it was the DWP, to ask if anything had changed since my medical. Has anyone else had one of these/ What is it about? It has left me extremely distressed.

have you a current application to claim a benefit going through, or renewal of a DWP benefit such as ESA or DLA etc which you haven't yet had a decision on?

It could be that they are checking your circs are still the same as at the time of the medical before making a decision.

I am currently being moved from IB to ESA, I had my medical assessment in September. I was not aware they could just ring you up adhoc. Great, now I can be as paranoid about the phone ringing as I am about going outside. Thanks a lot ATOS.

With the benefit of hindsight if you had given your telephone number to the DWP, it would have been preferable that you had not disclosed it to them at the outset.

All is not lost however, as if either Atos or the DWP contact you again by telephone, you can decline the call and ask that you are only contacted in writing.

Hi Jillian

I've been asked that question by the DWP and simply refused to discuss the matter, telling them to correspond in writing.

I may be cynical, but if a claimant has been found fit for work I doubt the DWP would be as concerned that the claimant's condition may have changed since the medical, as they would if the claimant was found unfit for work!
