Appeal Question

So my last IB payment was 28th December so I have till the 28th january to appeal ?

My letter state I have one month from the dat of the letter.

You are correct, it will be 1 month from the date of your decision letter.

It states on my letter I have one month from the date of the letter to appeal and I made a mistake it has the 8 December on it and I never received it till the 18th December ? That meanws I have 5 days to get my appeal in not fair.

How to submit an appeal

You could state on the form that the letter did not arrive until the 18/12/11, and that you are seeking advice and representation, and that you will provide more evidence as it becomes available.

You can simply state that you disagree with the decision, and wish to appeal it.

Or you could print off the form, and take it with you tommorrow to your appointment.

I have filled in my appeal just then using the appeals guide in the members section and will be sending to the address on the letter by special delivery tomorrow. i have a fit note also, could that be a different address I have to send that to than the one on the letter ?

Hi P,

You could ring up and check where your "fit note" has to be sent to.

In any case, I would keep copies of both your GL24, and your "fit note" before posting them off, in case they get "lost".
