Hello Marc,

I have CFS,also scored 0 at medical, and have just won appeal (only to WRAG, but very grateful for that). The descriptors you will get points for is very individual. At my tribunal, I found there was little or no time for me to 'argue' my case, but the doctor had obviously looked at my ESA50 and picked out descpriptors she thought I could score on and thoroughly questioned myself and my dad on them. Also, none of the evidence I had sent in after the initial decision was taken into consideration- it was made clear they could only purely go by the descriptors and if I fulfilled them, adn to do this used the ESA50 and medical report.
So my advice is know the strongest descriptors you fulfill points for and why, and make a note of them in case you forget and hopefully you will be fine, as it sounds as if you should fulfill enough points as I did.
Take care, all the best, and I hope it all goes well for you, and you get whats due to you.

Can I refer you to two long posts I made on CFS under the thread "Typical Day?", which refer to some in-built anti-CFS/ME in the SM handbook.

Typical day (1)

Typical day (2)

Be careful what you claim.

Mod Edit :

Sorry C, I know you are trying to help, but we cannot allow members to advise others on "What to claim" and how to act at an Appeals Hearing, for obvious reasons

This is covered in our Appeals Guides.

Hi Marc
I too have CFS and scored 0 at medical but won my appeal under section 29b all I can say is be honest and get as much evidence as you can. My doctors report i believe was very useful. Good Luck
