TOPIC: WRAG GROUP TO SUPPORT GROUP

WRAG GROUP TO SUPPORT GROUP 5 years 1 month ago #90153

My wife was put into the wrag group for ESA IN Febuary 2012.
I appealed this decision with in the time limit. However nothing was received from the DWP then in June my wife received another form to complete on her health. She was again put in the WRAG group and informed after a further 6 months her ESA would stop with no further payment. This decision was appealed against and a complaint was also made regarding the first appeal which had not been replyed to.The complaint was quickly replyed to and my wife was informed that the papers had been sent to appeal and they would come back on when the appeal will be heard.A further complaint was made stateing my wife had not been informed of this. My wife received a letter regarding the second appeal that it would be looked at again and sent to appeal if the decision could not be changed.Today my wife received a call from the DWP to inform her that the decision had been changed and she had been put in the support group back dated to Febuary 2012 and the increase in her benefit money back dated would be in her account with in 2 hours. This member of staff was not the decision maker but the person who was paying the back dated money. He told my wife that a letter would be sent from the decision maker in due course. The result was really good news but I find how they got this case in a such a mess unblievable. Thanks to benefitsandwork for there great help.

I agree that DWP seem to have a talent for making even easy things complicated!
