Is it the norm that prior to getting an ESA decision via letter you get a phone call from the DM telling you what the proposed decision is and if you wish to add anything to your claim should you consider the proposed decision to be incorrect?

Hi G,

The DM's sometimes do this if they are considering making a "fit for work" decision, to see whether you can provide any further evidence that may prevent them from doing this.

Just to add,

I have also heard of people receiving a phone call, (don't know if it was a DM) simply stating that a decision had been made, and The Decision Notice was in the post. This arrived a few days later.
