Thanks Gordon and Bro.
something happened and I did not post the letters yet.
I hope to send the supporting letters to DWP Decision Maker on Monday or tomorrow.

1,As it will be very tight, would you advise that I give a call to the person who advised me about getting other documents, to warn her that I will be sending more documents?

2, I wonder if I can put copies of the two letters together in one envelope to send off as it will be via next day delivery to save money OR should I seal and send each individually as the letters are from two different people?

3, Does it look 'right' if I put two letters into one envelope? My friend has addressed one envelope already and the therapist's I have to print out.

4, Am I right to think I am allowed to make copies of these letters?

Hi E,

1. You can do, if you feel that it will help.

2. Any extra evidence/letters can be placed into the same envelope, with a covering letter stating that you wish this extra evidence to be taken into account.

3. There is no reason why it should not look right, as claimants include evidence/letters from various sources with their ESA50's.

4. Yes, you can. You should always send copies, and keep originals. You then have the original to provide if they are particularly requested.

Remember you will have a bit more time to forward anything to The DWP DM, as they will not receive your file with any recommendations as a result of your "Medical" assessment until after you have had the assessment. Although, that will be sent to The DM electronically.

Hi Bro,

From what you said above, does it mean that if I sent off the letters on Monday and they received it on Tuesday, I cannot get the DM to have a look at them and see if there is enough to have the assessment due the Monday after cancelled?

What I am saying is that I am trying every possible way to avoid the assessment due to not able to have anyone to accompany me on the day as the appointment date is just not convenient.

Is it that it is too late as my file would have been sent to the assessment centre by now?

Hi E,

It is generally ATOS who decide whether a face to face is deemed necessary or not.

ATOS then return your file to The DWP DM with their recommendations.

It is then the DM, who is not medically qualified, who makes the decision on an award of ESA or not, taking into account all the evidence before them, on the balance of probabilities.

To be on the safe side you should post any fresh evidence to ATOS and The DWP DM, ASAP.

Whether or not this will cause the cancellation of your "Medical" or not, is anybodies guess, but certainly worth a try.

Hi E,

It would simply be a covering letter, explaining what the fresh evidence is pertaining to, and requesting that it is taken into consideration along with the ESA50 and any other evidence that you have already provided.
