IB to ESA was created by speo77
Having submitted my ESA 50 and 40 pages of extra evidence (with the help of this site) over 5 weeks ago, I rang ATOS last week to chase my claim up. I was told that I need not attend a medical, and that all the information had been passed back to the DWP. I rang the DWP local office today to try and find out what was happening with the claim but they have received nothing from ATOS and my claim for IB is still live .....
My question is really what happens next ?......I am still on IB and not ESA and I do not have to attend a medical, does this mean I have qualified for ESA and the DWP are just slow to make an award ?
Thanks in advance

Pretty much I am afraid.

I would expect it to take about 10 days for the DWP to receive your file back from ATOS, but it can then take several weeks or even months before a Decision Maker will make a Decision on your claim.

You will continue to receive IB until a Decision is made, however long that might be.

Also, you cannot be found Fit for Work without an assessment taking place, so it should mean that you are going to be placed in the WRAG or the Support Group.

If you do not hear anything soon, then I would check back with the DWP every couple of weeks.
