ESA50 Again Panic

Hi

I did keep a photocopy of my previous ESA50 and all the accompanying evidence that I sent off. Though of course that was the old ESA form and not the new one. Is there much difference. I did read through both of them side by side and I can see a few changes to wording etc but it seem that the gist is similar to last time.

I got into the SG because of the mobilising descriptor and my circumstances have not changed for the better. Nor have my meds changed either and they are considered "above average". I would like to see what severe medication is. I must be psychic because I booked a GP appointment before the form arrived and getting an session with her is like gold dust so that was good. Not until the 25th July though sadly.

I intend to get all of the rest of the form completed, using the PDF version as my "rough" copy as I find writing painful and slow going these days. Can't face writing it out twice again. Then once I have seen my GP, warned her of impending doom and made sure there are no changes to any meds and that all my notes are fully updated, I will send off the form. I did contact my MP today at some length, so will see what he has to say. Not holding my breath though.

Most of the changes are how the descriptors are applied, paying heed to recent UT case law. Some of the wording has also been altered

Question 18 is new, as is the section on Cancer sufferers.

Steve has explained the main differences from page 4 of the "new" physical health claims guide and further throughout the guide.

I don't no whether you are aware, but you don't have to use a pen at all if using the Pdf version, it is interactive , and can be completed with your PC keyboard. You can save and edit as you wish.

You don't need to print it off until you are happy with your efforts, you can then post the Pdf version to ATOS leaving you with an exact copy on your P.C.

You can throw the pink paper one in the bin, if you want.

You can also type up any added pages on Word docs, print them off and attach them to The ESA50.

Just a quick question, do you think it is an idea to include a copy of last year's ESA85A that I have, to see why I met the support group descriptors. In my case the mobilising descriptor. Am working my way slowly through the form and the B&W guides and it occurred to me that I could include it, if it has any worth at all? Or would it sound like I am being pushy and presumptuous? Don't want to antagonise anyone after being accused of being "uppity" last week. Many thanks.

Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to use last years ESA85A as evidence, if it is supportive.

You should not worry about being "pushy or presumptuous", you are perfectly within your rights to put forward the best, supportive evidence possible.

After all, DWP/ATOS will not do us any favours.
