SAR issued, strange result was created by froggylegs
Hi,
I was recently migrated from IB onto ESA and was put in the support group for 3 years. As I have several conditions I immediately sent in a SAR on June 15th using the suggested letter template on this forum.

Today I received a parcel I had to sign for. It contains about 300 sheets of information (rough estimate) from the DWP dating back to 1991! I was under the impression they only kept stuff for 14 months? There are old IB50 forms i submitted in the early 90s and decision reports by the DWP, there are loads of photocopied sick notes also dating back to the early 90s.

The only sheet of paper from this year is what appears to be a screen printout stating my IB migration start and closure date which are correct - 5.3.13 and 12.6.13

There is no ESA85a, no ESA113, no LT54 - absolutely nothing regarding the actual migration decision process.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi fl,

It sounds like The DWP Data Controller has gone into overdrive.

Information on the FOI request response below does suggest that documents are destroyed after 14 months :

Sometimes when you receive such information as a result of a SAR the accompanying letter contains contact details for The Data Controller for your area. (sometimes an e-mail address)

If this is the case I would suggest that you contact them directly.

Failing that, you will have to issue another SAR.

Hi fl
I contacted the Data controller through email and also issued another SAR using email, I found it to be quicker to get a response
