Hello, advise please, I was placed into the ESA WRAG, I appealed this as I thought I should have been put into the support group, I sent off all my appeal forms and medical evidence and I am waiting for my appeal hearing date, I received a letter on Friday informing me that somebody would be calling at my home this next Monday to review the info on my claim, my wife has said she does not want them coming to our home is it possible for me to visit them, and is this usual for them to come to your home

thank you

Hi dg24652,

The first thing that you would have to do is contact The DWP to find out what the actual purpose of the visit is.

It may not be in connection with your appeal, and may simply be a coincidence.

Whilst on the phone, you could discuss whether or not it would be possible to carry out the meeting at a DWP office.

It could be a Compliance Officer interview, many people have been getting these recently.

Hi dg,

It is hard to know the exact reason, but quite a lot of our members have had compliance interviews recently.

Most of the instances involving our members have been with respect to checking whether they are in receipt of Occupational Pensions, even when in receipt of non-means tested CB ESA.

Therefore, unless it is as a result of a malicious phone call, etc, it will be to check your financial situation.

In our members instances, they have simply supplied information, regarding OP's, bank accounts, etc, and all has been fine.

They were just routine.
